Remember the crude flash animations of the early 2000s? That’s where it started. Simple characters with mouths redrawn frame by frame to sync up with terrible jokes told on a £1 ASDA mic. Intrigue dragged me into the world of flash games, then mobile development. I turned innovative new game mechanics into fully launched games on the App Store at lightning speed, which landed me in a startup incubator. Angel investors made me feel detached so I stepped away to be a software engineer at a video company.
Executing clever logic was thrilling but I disagreed with the core product decisions and wanted a seat at the table. An immediate transition from development to UX was assisted by connections made through the startup community. Working in UX was undoubtedly tougher than development. With time my ability to bridge communication and knowledge gaps between designers and developers led me down the obvious path; product management. Bugger.
So here I am. A guy who understands how everything works and has found success spanning game development, government products, television shows, b2b SaaS platforms, ecommerce scaleups, sports competitions and more.
Where do I go next? Fuck if I know.
