This year has been a whirlwind! Fresh out of university, I wasn’t sure what the future held, but life had other plans. A mix of calculated risks and crazy adventures made 2014 unforgettable, and I’m excited to see what 2015 brings!

Startup Success

I launched a mobile games company and secured funding, acquiring an awesome office, a supportive team, and a financial boost. The initial months were a whirlwind of brainstorming, collaborating with incubator colleagues, and attending industry events (admittedly, sometimes for the free food and drinks!).

Solo Travel Escapades

Craving a break from the ordinary, I booked a one-way ticket out of England. After some Marrakech revelry, my hostel buddies convinced me to explore beyond the tourist trail. I spent time kitesurfing (with varying degrees of success) in Essaouira and ventured into the Atlas Mountains on a camel trek. Back in Marrakech for a taste of nightlife, the reality of neglected work loomed. It was time to return to England and face the music.

Interrailing Adventures

Back in the UK and yearning for escape, a drunken conversation with my university housemate sparked a new adventure. With a loose plan for Eastern Europe, we embarked on an interrailing trip through Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Bulgaria. I’ll share dedicated posts on these destinations in the future, so stay tuned! Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia & Bulgaria.

A Brush with Mortality

Returning to England, I settled back into work. However, a night out took a dangerous turn. A fall from a ledge resulted in a head injury and hospitalization. While I’m fortunate to be alive, the experience left me with some memory loss and typing difficulties.

Eurogamer Expo: Games Galore!

This year saw me attend various industry events, and the Eurogamer Expo (EGX) was a highlight. A childhood dream of attending a major gaming expo finally came true! The event showcased the latest AAA games, and the afterparty, hosted by Sega, Turtle Beach, and others, was a blast. I made valuable connections, scored free swag, and perhaps overindulged (accidentally leaving behind a bag of goodies on the London Underground – someone’s lucky day!).

With a year filled with unforgettable experiences, both positive and challenging, I’m ready to tackle 2015 with ambitious plans!
